Cándido Monge, Madrid sculptor with a self-taught training and a long artistic career.
His sculpture techniques are varied, working with iron (his favorite material) , bronze, clay, stone and wood. His paintings are created with iron cement, wood and acrylic with sand and finally his engravings are of strong water, dry tip and pyro etched.
His trajectory has been very prolific having nowadays more than 1.000 sculptures, 100 paintings, 58 engraving plates and countless cartons, pyro-etched parts, and boards.
In addition to these, he has also created four sculptures of seven meters tall, located in arround the Spanish territory.
He has held numerous individual and collective exhibitions in emblematic places. Individually some of the exhibitions have been at the Cultural Center “José Espronceda”, at the Official College of the Community of Madrid or in the Art Galleries such as the Alfredo Lavina.
On a collective level he has also participated in numerous exhibitions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Salamanca, the José Lorenzo Gallery Exhibition in Santiago de Compostela or the Exhibition Hall of the Provincial Council of Palencia.
During his career, he has received several awards and mentions, including: First prize in Iberica Group Plastic Arts Competition in 1989, 1992 and 1998, the First Prize in The Arts Competition in Transport in 1989 and 1991, Honorable Mention in the Torrejón de Ardoz Competition in 1997 and 1998 and in 2022 Prize Santiago de Santiago – 89 Salón de Otoño – Casa de Vacas – Madrid.
